Select dictionariesYou must select the Dictionaries thumb in the control panel to be able to manage the dictionaries you want to use to create a grid. A final global dictionary including all the settings will be built once this thumb is exited. It is also possible to create and manage your own dictionaries. See section Dictionaries management. for details. The grid is not editable in this mode. Add dictionaries and wordsThe control panel contains four boxes: Main Dictionaries: This box contains the main dictionaries to use to create a grid. Click and to add or remove a dictionary from the list. By default, the application looks in directory:\Q-Word\Dictionaries\Languages\ to add a dictionary to the list. Thema Dictionaries: This box contains the thema dictionaries to use to create a grid. Click and to add or remove a dictionary from the list. By default, the application looks in directory\Q-Word\Dictionaries\Thema\ to add a dictionary to the list. The distinction between main and thema dictionaries is only used for automatic generation. Indeed the generator tries to place thema words first in the grid.
Personal words: This box contains additional words you want to add to the words of the thema dictionaries. Click and to add or remove words from the list. The list can contain up to 50 words. If you want more, it is better to create your own dictionary and to add it to the Thema list.Excluded words: This box contains words you want to exclude from the dictionaries of the two first boxes. Click and to add or remove words from the list.Words constraintsThe control panel allows adding some constraints to restrict the words you want to use to create your grid. Length: These two parameters are numbers giving the minimum and maximum size allowed for words. All the words outside this range are excluded from the dictionaries. There is no limit if no value is entered. Forbidden letters: This parameter lists the letters forbidden. All the words including one of these letters are excluded from the dictionaries. It can be useful if you want to create a special grid with no E for example. Definition only option enables to take only the words that have at least one definition. It is useful if you want to generate a grid with the generator and play it immediately. Indeed the generator can select a definition for all words of the final grid, giving you the possibility to solve the grid without being revealed to you.Selecting the option
with a dictionary that does not contain any definition leads to get an empty final dictionary. |     |
