Solve puzzlesYou can solve grids while in Solve mode. This mode is entered thanks to the combo box in the tool bar. ![]() A warning is prompted if you try to enter this mode while the grid is not complete. A grid is complete if all the words and their associated clues are defined. Select words and their associated cluesClues are displayed when the Clues thumb is selected in the control panel. Click left on the grid in order to select the horizontal word covering the case. The clue related to this word is also selected in the Across list box in the control panel. Click right on the grid in order to select the vertical word covering the case. The clue related to this word is also selected in the Down list box in the control panel. Click left on a clue in the Across or Down list to select it, as well as the word in the grid associated to this definition. ![]() Fill-up the gridCases in the selected slot are greyed and surrounded by a dashed line. Find words thanks to dictionariesThe Help thumb in the control panel enables to choose dictionaries from which suggestions can be proposed in order to fill-up the grid. The control panel has 3 boxes: Help Dictionaries: This box contains the dictionaries to use to make suggestions. Click and to add or remove a dictionary from the list. By default, the application looks in directory:\Q-Word\Dictionaries\Languages\ to add a dictionary to the list. Propositions: As you type letters in the grid, words that can be fitted in the selected slot are added to the propositions box. Propositions are words taken from dictionaries defined in the box Help Dictionaries and that respect the letters already entered in the grid. Word definitions: This box displays definitions associated with a word selected in the Propositions box. These definitions are taken from the selected dictionaries. Correlation option enables to refine the words in the propositions box by correlating the suggestions with the perpendicular words. |     |
